Custom Window Shades for Buford Homeowners
Buford’s mix of established neighborhoods and newer subdivisions means windows come in all shapes, sizes, and orientations. Off-the-shelf shades rarely fit well or perform consistently, which is where custom window shades make a real difference. Monroe Plantation Shutter Pros designs and installs window shades built to the exact dimensions of your home, so gaps, light leaks, and flimsy hardware become a thing of the past.
We serve Buford and the broader Gwinnett County area, including nearby communities like Lawrenceville, Braselton, and Hoschton. Our process starts with a free in-home visit where we measure every window, discuss your priorities, and present fabric and operating system options that match your style and budget. Every shade we install is ordered to your specifications and mounted by our own team.
What’s Included in Our Custom Window Shades Service
When you hire Monroe Plantation Shutter Pros for custom window shades in Buford, you receive a complete service from first measurement to finished installation. We handle sourcing, delivery, and mounting so you never have to coordinate multiple vendors or guess at hardware compatibility.
Professional Window Measurement for Buford Homes
Accurate measurement is the foundation of any shade that fits and functions properly. Our specialist records inside and outside mount dimensions, checks for out-of-square frames, and notes any obstructions like handles or locks that could affect operation. Getting this right the first time means your shades arrive ready to install without costly remakes.
Fabric and Operating System Selection
We carry roller shades, cellular shades, Roman shades, and solar shades in a wide range of fabrics and opacity levels. Buford’s intense summer sun makes solar and cellular options popular for living rooms and home offices facing west or south. You can also choose from corded, cordless, or motorized lift systems depending on your accessibility needs and preference.
Clean, Precise Installation
Our installer mounts each shade level and plumb, tests the full range of motion, and trims any excess cord or hardware for a finished look. We treat your walls, trim, and floors with care throughout the process. When we leave, your shades are fully operational and your rooms look exactly as you pictured them.

When Do You Need Custom Window Shades in Buford?
Buford homeowners reach out to us for a variety of reasons. Some are building or renovating, others are replacing shades that have worn out or never fit correctly. Knowing when custom is the right call can save you money and frustration compared to repeated off-the-shelf purchases.
New Construction or Renovation in Buford
Newly built homes in Buford’s growing subdivisions often have large or irregularly sized windows that standard retail shades cannot cover cleanly. Renovations that add bay windows, transoms, or sliding glass doors create the same challenge. Custom shades ordered to precise dimensions are the practical solution from day one.
Excessive Heat and Glare from Georgia Sun
Gwinnett County summers are long and bright. South- and west-facing rooms in Buford can become uncomfortable by early afternoon without effective window coverage. Solar shades with the right openness percentage filter glare and reduce heat gain without making a room feel closed in. Pairing shades with custom plantation shutters gives you layered light control throughout the year.
Privacy Without Sacrificing Natural Light
Many Buford neighborhoods have homes built close together, making privacy a real concern in bedrooms and bathrooms. Sheer or light-filtering shades let daylight in while blocking the view from outside. For rooms that need complete privacy after dark, blackout or room-darkening fabrics handle the job without requiring heavy drapes.
If any of these situations sound familiar, a custom shade consultation is worth scheduling sooner rather than later.
